Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Family Education and Curriculum

Overview

This project created the development of curriculum for in-person and online training for families of individuals experiencing substance use disorder. The training explores what is a substance use disorder, different substances of abuse, as well as pathways to recovery. The training was developed in partnership with Washington State’s Health Care Authority (HCA), family members of an individual(s) experiencing a substance use disorder, and individuals currently in recovery. This included a train-the trainer component in order to promote training more broadly for youth and families, specifically for those in youth and family serving organizations.

Online Modules

The online modules are designed to go alongside of, or in addition to the live Substance Use disorder training, and also includes a supplemental resource toolkit for Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA), Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR). The training includes developmentally specific elements for family members with youth experiencing SUD.
